Aircraft ELT
Quick broadcast of distinctive signals

Aircraft ELT
An emergency locator transmitter (ELT) acts as a piece of apparatus that transmits distinct signals on specified frequencies depending on the application. It may be manually or automatically activated by impact. These pieces of equipment are made to send a distress signal in the event of an aircraft accident.
Capabilities
A properly configured ELT is a crucial part of the COSPAS-SARSAT international satellite system for search and rescue (SAR). Non-geostationary satellites can detect this signal, and the ELT can then be precisely located by either or both GPS trilateration and doppler triangulation.
- Can be automatically activated and is readily removable from aircraft after attaching it.
- Designed and mounted in the airplane in such a way that it triggers upon impact or can be manually activated using a remote control or panel indicator.
